Plebiscite for Confirmation and Legal Requirement
- Creation of Barangay Fortune is subject to approval by a majority vote.
- Plebiscite shall be conducted among qualified voters of Barangay Parang.
- The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) shall supervise the plebiscite.
- The plebiscite must be held within 90 days from the law's effectivity.
Appointment of Initial Barangay Officials
- The first set of barangay officials will be appointed by the City Mayor of Marikina.
- Appointed officials will serve until successors are duly elected and qualified.
Transfer and Administration of Public Infrastructure
- All existing public infrastructure and facilities within the new barangay at the time of approval are transferred to Barangay Fortune.
- Transfer occurs without cost or compensation.
- Barangay Fortune is responsible for administration and management of these assets.
Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) Rights
- Barangay Fortune shall receive its share of Internal Revenue Allotment as prescribed under Section 285 of the Local Government Code of 1991 (Republic Act No. 7160).
Financial Responsibility for Plebiscite
- Expenses related to the plebiscite will be borne by the City of Marikina.
Effectivity of the Act
- The law takes effect immediately upon approval.
