Creation of Barangay Concepcion Dos in Marikina

The President issues the decree by virtue of the powers in him vested by the Constitution.
The decree is anchored on accelerating the socio-economic development of the country.
The decree recognizes intensified government projects and requires close supervision by local officials to approximate achievement of socio-economic upliftment.
The decree is based on the steady desire of inhabitants of the affected area to create the proposed barangay to attain the goals of the New Society.

Section 1 detaches and separates the subdivisions known as SSS Village, Rimview Park, and Bonita Homes in Barangay Concepcion, Municipality of Marikina, Metro-Manila.
Section 1 establishes these detached areas to form a distinct and independent barangay.
The newly created barangay is named Barangay Concepcion Dos.
Creation of Barangay Concepcion Dos does not affect the legal existence of the mother barangay Concepcion.

Section 2 requires that, except as otherwise provided, all provisions of law now or hereafter applicable to regular barangays apply to Barangay Concepcion Dos.
Section 2 treats the barangay as governed by the same legal rules applicable to regular barangays, subject to the specific transitional arrangements in the decree.

Section 3 provides that the present elective barangay officials of Barangay Concepcion continue performing their duties in the newly created Barangay Concepcion Dos.
Section 3 provides that the President will have barangay officials for Barangay Concepcion Dos appointed.
Section 3 states that the appointive officials hold office until their successors have been elected in the regular barangay elections following the issuance of this Decree.

Section 5 repeals or modifies all laws or parts of laws, and all executive orders or regulations, that are inconsistent with the decree.
