Functions and Powers of Adjudication Boards
- Boards act as the Police Commission en banc in reviewing and final adjudication of police administrative cases under the Police Act of 1966.
Establishment of Investigation Boards in Provinces and Cities
- Boards of Investigators replaced by new boards created by the Police Commission Chairman.
- Composition:
- Chairman: Representative of the Police Commission.
- Members: Representative of the Secretary of Justice and a Constabulary Officer.
- Operate full-time under Police Commission supervision and control.
- Perform duties as the former Board of Investigators did under Police Act of 1966 and corresponding rules.
- Required to submit bi-monthly reports on the status and disposition of cases to the Police Commission Chairman.
Implementation and Supersession of Conflicting Laws
- This Decree modifies or amends conflicting provisions in the Police Act of 1966 and other executive issuances.
- Police Commission Chairman empowered to promulgate implementing rules and regulations.
Enforcement
- The Decree takes effect on October 3, 1972, and was signed by President Ferdinand E. Marcos in Manila.
