- The seat of government of the Municipality of Kitaotao is at the barrio of Kitaotao.
Legislative basis and transitory governance
- Executive Order No. 198 states that the creation of Kitaotao as proposed in House Bill No. 9010 was approved by the House of Representatives.
- Executive Order No. 198 establishes that Kitaotao starts operating as a municipality upon:
- appointment of the Mayor
- appointment of the Vice-Mayor
- appointment of councilors sufficient to make a majority of the councilors, and
- their qualification.
