Composition of the General Military Council
- The Council is chaired by the President of the Philippines.
- Members include:
- The Minister of National Defense
- The Chief of Staff and the Vice Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines
- Commanding Generals of the Philippine Army, Air Force, and Philippine Navy
- The Chief of the Philippine Constabulary
- Deputy Chiefs of Staff for Personnel (J-1), Intelligence (J-2), Operation (J-3), Logistic (J-4), Plans (J-5), Comptrollership (J-6), and Home (J-7)
- Senior officials including the Adjutant General, Judge Advocate General, Surgeon General, Chief of Dental Service, Chief of Nurse Corps, Chief of Engineers, Provost Marshall, Chief of Chaplains, and Chief of Communication Electronics.
Authority of the President Regarding Meetings
- The President has discretion to convene meetings of the Council.
- During meetings, the President may include all field commanders such as provincial, task force, and regional commanders to provide comprehensive input.
Functions and Responsibilities of the Council
- The Council is tasked to periodically review problems and the status related to national security and military matters.
- It is responsible for submitting its findings and recommendations directly to the President.
