Appointment and Initial Grades
- Professors are initially appointed at the rank of Major.
- Assistant professors are initially appointed at the rank of First Lieutenant.
Promotion Rules for Professors
- Professors become eligible for promotion to Lieutenant-Colonel after 8 years of service as Major within the Corps.
- Promotion to Colonel is possible after 10 years as Lieutenant-Colonel.
- Colonel is the highest attainable rank for professors.
Promotion Rules for Assistant Professors
- Assistant professors are eligible for promotion to Captain after 4 years as First Lieutenant.
- They become eligible for Major after 6 years as Captain.
- They can be promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel after 8 years as Major.
- Lieutenant-Colonel is the highest attainable rank for assistant professors.
- Assistant professors attaining Major or Lieutenant-Colonel may be advanced academically to professor if vacancies exist, entitling them to the promotion rights of professors.
Transfer and Appointment of Regular Force Officers
- Officers in the Regular Force may apply for appointment to the Corps of Professors if not prohibited by law.
- They retain their current rank upon transfer, subject to minimum ranks: assistant professors must be at least First Lieutenant, professors at least Major.
- The Chief of Staff may assign army officers temporarily to the PMA faculty as special professors or in other roles without changing their service status or subjecting them to the Corps promotion rules.
Credit for Prior Service
- Professors and assistant professors appointed under this order are credited for prior teaching or departmental leadership service at PMA for promotion purposes.
Benefits and Equivalence
- Members of the Corps of Professors receive pay, allowances, retirement rights, and privileges equivalent to other officers of the Regular Force, except as otherwise provided in the order.

- The Executive Order is made under Section 22(c) of Commonwealth Act No. 1, as amended, granting authority for the creation and regulation of the Corps of Professors.
