Operationalization and Funding of the New RTC Branches
- The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Justice, must include the operationalization of these five RTC branches in the Court’s program immediately.
- Funding for these branches shall be part of the annual General Appropriations Act.
- The appropriation and release of funds are conditional upon the actual organization of the courts and appointment of their personnel.
Amendment to Previous Judiciary Reorganization Law
- Section 14(h) of Batas Pambansa Blg. 129 (The Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980), as amended, will be amended to reflect the creation of these new branches.
- This Act also supersedes, amends, repeals, or modifies any existing laws, rules, and regulations inconsistent with its provisions.
Effectivity of the Act
- The Act becomes effective fifteen (15) days after its complete publication.
- Publication must be made either in the Official Gazette or in two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
Legislative Enactment and Approvals
- The Act was passed by the House of Representatives on September 17, 2012 and by the Senate on August 6, 2012.
- It was approved by the President of the Philippines on November 21, 2012.
