Scope and Criteria for Eligibility

- Promotion of moral values such as incorruptibility and responsible citizenship.
Categories of the Award
- Two main categories:
- Individual Award: Granted to qualifying persons as per established criteria.
- Institutional Award: Granted to qualifying organizations and groups.
Posthumous Awarding Provisions
- The award can be conferred posthumously.
- If awarded posthumously, the award is received by:
- Legal heirs of the deceased.
- If no legal heirs, the nearest kin.
- If no legal heirs or kin, a person designated by the President.
Restriction Against Double Recognition
- Individuals or organizations previously cited and conferred a decoration by the Republic for the same achievement shall not be reconsidered for this award.
Regulations on the Decoration
- The design, form, and manner of wearing the Rizal Pro Patria Award will be prescribed by the Philippine Heraldry Committee.
- Such rules and regulations require the approval of the President of the Philippines.

- Issued and signed by President Carlos P. Garcia and Executive Secretary Natalio P. Castillo.
- Officially promulgated in Manila on June 2, 1961.
