Transfer of Personnel, Assets, Liabilities, and Records
- All personnel who were working at the Heracleo Casco National High School Annex are transferred to the new Pedro Mariscal National High School.
- All assets and liabilities related to the annex are also transferred to and absorbed by the new independent school.
- All official records held by the annex become the property of Pedro Mariscal National High School.
Funding and Operationalization
- The Secretary of Education is mandated to immediately include the operationalization of Pedro Mariscal National High School in the Department of Education's programs.
- Initial funding for the school is to be taken from the current year’s appropriation allocated for the Heracleo Casco National High School Annex.
- Subsequent funding must be included in the annual General Appropriations Act to ensure continual operation.
Rulemaking Authority
- The Secretary of Education is given the authority to formulate the necessary rules and regulations to implement this Act.
- These rules and regulations must be completed within 120 days from the effectivity of the Act.
Effectivity and Publication
- The Act becomes effective fifteen (15) days after its publication.
- Publication must be in the Official Gazette or in at least two newspapers of general circulation.
Legal Formalities
- The Act was approved by both the House of Representatives and the Senate on December 11, 2017, and May 28, 2018, respectively.
- The President of the Philippines approved the Act on August 23, 2018.
This law reflects the government’s exercise of its authority to reorganize educational institutions, ensuring proper administrative and financial arrangements are in place for the independent operation of the newly established national high school.
