Boundary Description of the Municipality of Tagum

  • The municipality's boundaries are clearly defined by natural landmarks and fixed points:
    • Begins at the Bureau of Lands municipal boundary monument near the north of Lasang River.
    • Runs northerly along Lasang River to another boundary monument near the junction of Maduao and Lasang Rivers.
    • Turns southwesterly to a boundary monument at the junction of Tagactac and Bunawan Rivers.
    • Continues westerly along a latitude parallel (7°13' N) to the intersection with meridian 125°33' E.
    • Proceeds due north along said meridian to latitude 7°28'20" N.
    • Moves easterly along the southern boundary of Kapalong municipal district to the junction of Magdagundung and Liboganon Rivers.
    • Continues easterly following southern boundary line of the municipal districts of Saug and Compostela to the intersection with meridian 125°56'30" E.
    • Goes due south along the meridian to Lapinigan River.
    • Follows the southwesterly course of Lapinigan River to its mouth at Davao Gulf.
    • Follows the coastline back to the starting boundary monument near the mouth of Lasang River.

Constituent Barrios of the Municipality

  • The municipality shall comprise the following eight barrios:
    • BincoAgon
    • Hijo (which also serves as the Poblacion or center)
    • Lasang
    • Madaum
    • Magugpo
    • Mawab
    • PagsabaAgan
    • Tuganay

Effectivity of the Conversion

  • The conversion shall take effect on July 1, 1941.
