Republic Act No. 10778 separates and converts the Parañaque National High School-La Huerta Annex into an independent national high school called La Huerta National High School, with all personnel, assets, liabilities, and records transferred to the new school, and the Secretary of Education tasked with its operationalization and funding.

Transfer of Assets, Personnel, and Records

  • All personnel currently assigned to the Parañaque National High School - La Huerta Annex are transferred to La Huerta National High School.
  • All assets, liabilities, and records of the annex are likewise transferred and absorbed by the newly independent La Huerta National High School.

Funding and Operationalization

  • The Secretary of Education is mandated to include the operationalization of La Huerta National High School immediately in the Department of Education's program.
  • Initial funding for the school’s operation will be charged against the current year's appropriation originally allocated for the Parañaque National High School - La Huerta Annex.
  • Subsequent funding requirements shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Rulemaking Authority

  • The Secretary of Education is given the authority to issue necessary rules and regulations to effectively implement the provisions and purpose of the Act.

Effectivity and Publication

  • The Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation.

Legislative Approval and Ratification

  • The Act was approved by the Senate and House of Representatives, with specific dates of passage.
  • It was signed and approved by the President of the Philippines, thereby enacting it into law.
