Academic Offerings and Research Mandate
- The College will continue offering current academic and vocational courses.
- It shall expand its curriculum to include baccalaureate degrees in:
- Arts and Sciences
- Engineering
- Humanities
- Commerce
- Education
- Literature and Philosophy
- The College is also mandated to promote scientific and technological research activities.
Administrative Continuity and Personnel Integration
- To ensure smooth transition, the current school administrator becomes the first superintendent of the new Polytechnic College.
- Existing teachers, instructors, and other school personnel will be absorbed into new positions aligned with the College’s expanded curricular needs.
- Personnel are entitled to compensation and benefits equal to those of counterparts in existing polytechnic colleges.
- The College will operate under the supervision of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Rulemaking Authority
- The Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education is empowered to issue rules and regulations for the effective implementation of this Act.
Funding and Financial Provisions
- Initial funding for the conversion will come from the current year’s appropriation allocated to the Buguias-Loo Agro-Industrial School.
- Subsequent funding requirements shall be incorporated into the annual General Appropriations Act.
- Fees, charges, government subsidies, and other income generated form special trust funds.
- These funds are to be deposited in authorized government depository banks.
- Interest accrued from these funds will be used solely for the College’s needs.
- The College may disburse income to support professional growth, development, health, welfare activities, and other necessary expenses to fulfill its mandate.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect immediately upon approval.
