    • Laboratory and X-rays: Php 2,000
    • Surgical expenses varying by type of operation from Php 1,500 to Php 7,500
    • Anesthesiologist fees ranging from Php 500 to Php 2,500
    • Operating room fees from Php 500 to Php 1,500
    • Medical practitioner visits: Php 400/day, capped at Php 5,000 total
    • Drugs and medicines actual cost but not exceeding Php 20,000
    • Ambulance charges actual cost up to Php 1,500

Permanent Disablement Compensation

  • Loss or loss of use of body parts compensated with specified amounts, mostly Php 50,000 for major disabilities such as loss of two limbs or sight of both eyes
  • Lesser disabilities compensated with graduated amounts e.g., Php 20,000 for arm at/elbow, Php 15,000 for hand or leg below knee
  • Hearing loss compensated Php 30,000 for both ears, Php 15,000 for one ear

No Fault Indemnity

  • Claims for death or bodily injury to passengers or third parties paid without proof of fault
  • Maximum indemnity per person under this provision is Php 15,000

Premium Rates for CMVLI Coverage

  • Provided for both one-year and three-year policies
  • Premiums vary by vehicle classification, including private cars, trucks, buses, and motorcycles
  • Taxes applied: Documentary Stamp Tax (12.5%), Expanded Value Added Tax (12%), Local Government Tax (0.75%)
  • Examples of total premiums:
    • Private cars (one-year): Php 560
    • Heavy trucks (one-year): Php 1,200
    • Motorcycles (one-year): Php 250
    • Private cars (three-year): Php 1,610
    • Heavy trucks (three-year): Php 3,440

Implementation and Coverage

  • The circular applies and is mandatory for all CMVLI policies issued starting January 1, 2007
  • Issued and adopted by the Insurance Commissioner
  • Approved by the Secretary of Finance
