Qualifications for Conducting the Assessment
- The Engineering Geological and Geohazard Assessment must be conducted by:
- A licensed professional Geologist with at least five (5) years of experience in geology.
- Alternatively, a licensed Engineer having:
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in land development and/or infrastructure development.
- At least six (6) months of training in Engineering Geology or Structural Geology, or possession of a postgraduate diploma in these fields.
Monitoring of Compliance
- Monitoring compliance with the recommendations detailed in the Engineering Geological and Geohazard Assessment Report (EGGAR) is a shared responsibility between:
- The concerned Local Government Unit (LGU).
- The preparer of the EGGAR.
Legal Authority and Implementation
- The clarifications are made pursuant to DAO 2000-28, specifically Sections 1 and 3.2, to rationalize and standardize the implementation of the engineering geological and geohazard assessments as prerequisites for ECC applications.
- The directive was formally adopted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Antonio H. Cerilles on October 24, 2000.
