Legislative district creation and boundaries
- Section 1 creates an additional legislative district in Cebu to be known as the Seventh Legislative District.
- The Seventh Legislative District is created by reapportioning the current Second Legislative District.
- The creation of the Seventh Legislative District commences in the next national and local elections after the effectivity of the Act (Section 1).
- Section 1 identifies the Seventh Legislative District municipalities as: Dumanjug, Ronda, Alcantara, Moalboal, Badian, Alegria, Malabuyoc, and Ginatilan.
- The current Second Legislative District of Cebu continues to be designated as such (Section 1).
- Section 1 states that the current Second Legislative District municipalities are: Argao, Dalaguete, Alcoy, Boljoon, Oslob, Santander, and Samboan.
Election timing and implementation commencement
- The Seventh Legislative District begins participation in elections in the next national and local elections after the Act’s effectivity (Section 1).
- The current Second Legislative District continues to exist with the municipalities specified by Section 1 for election purposes starting from the same electoral cycle described in Section 1.
Commission on Elections rules and regulations
- The Commission on Elections shall issue the necessary rules and regulations within thirty (30) days upon approval of the Act (Section 2).
- The rules and regulations issued by the Commission on Elections govern the implementation of the district reapportionment for election administration purposes (Section 2).
Repealing and conformity clause
- Section 3 repeals, amends, or modifies all laws, rules and regulations that are inconsistent with the Act.
