Bayanihan Dance Company as Nat'l Folk Dance Co.

Official designation of the Bayanihan Philippine Dance Company as the Philippine National Folk Dance Company.
Criteria for this designation include:
- National scope, representing diverse Filipino culture and issues.
- Excellence and highest standards in production, artistic quality, and organizational sustainability.
- World-class status based on international representation and acclaim.
- A consistent track record of artistic activities and organizational viability.

Conduct ongoing research and documentation of Philippine folk culture focusing on rituals, dances, music, and related cultural elements.
Produce various media outputs (books, audio, video, publications) to disseminate research findings to Filipinos and global audiences.
Develop and maintain a pool of folk dance masters for nationwide outreach and training programs.
Sustain a world-class performing company for state visits and official events domestically and internationally.
Engage in fundraising activities to support its cultural projects.
Special mandate for creating new repertoires reflecting the 1998 Centennial of Philippine Independence.

Free access to theater facilities at the Cultural Center of the Philippines for performances and rehearsals, with nominal charges for utilities.
Complimentary use of office spaces, rehearsal studios, and technical facilities at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, subject to reasonable utility fees.
Eligibility for project grants from the National Commission on Culture and Arts to support research, documentation, and production.

The Cultural Center of the Philippines must formalize arrangements with the Bayanihan within 30 days of the Act’s effectivity.
This agreement must comply with existing laws, rules, and regulations.

The President, upon recommendation from the Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports, may designate additional national folk dance companies.
Such companies shall receive the same entitlements and privileges as Bayanihan under this Act.

An initial appropriation of Five Million Pesos (P5,000,000) to support the functions and roles of Bayanihan.
Future funding to be included in the annual General Appropriations Act to sustain ongoing activities.

Any provision declared invalid or unconstitutional will not affect the remaining provisions of the Act, which remain in full force.

All laws, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Act are repealed or amended accordingly.
