Prohibition
- Fishing using amuro-amia, akayakasa, or similar destructive methods in Philippine waters is strictly prohibited.
- Such methods are destructive to coral reefs, seagrass beds, and other marine habitats.
Penalties
- Operators, boat captains, master fishermen, and recruiters or organizers who violate this order face:
- Imprisonment from 2 to 10 years, or
- A fine ranging from PHP 100,000 to PHP 500,000, or
- Both imprisonment and fine, at the court's discretion.
- Confiscation of the catch and fishing gear used in the violation is mandatory.
Repeal of Inconsistent Regulations
- All prior orders, rules, and regulations or parts thereof inconsistent with this order are repealed or modified to conform with this new directive.
Effectivity
- This order takes effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in two newspapers of general circulation.
