Procurement of Nurse Corps Reserve Members

    • Graduates of special or women-only hospitals eligible if they have nine months’ training in a general hospital.
    • Postgraduate training or experience may substitute for deficiencies under rules approved by the Chief of Staff and Secretary of National Defense.
  • Must have passed the Philippine nursing licensure examination and possess a valid certificate of registration.

Appointment and Promotion

  • Follow general policies consistent with other branches of the Medical Service.
  • Details of rank and advancement are regulated similarly to other medical personnel.

Classification and Compensation

  • Ranks and corresponding annual salaries:
    • Nurse: ₱1,200.00
    • Head Nurse: ₱1,500.00
    • Chief Nurse: ₱1,600.00
    • Superintendent: ₱2,100.00
  • Quarters are provided either in kind or cash, commensurate with rank, pursuant to Army Regulations and Presidential approval.

Mobilization and Service Obligations

  • Nurses assigned based on hospital capacity: three nurses per fifty-patient capacity or major fraction.
  • Reserve Nurses must be ready to serve during threatened or actual hostilities.
  • They are required to report for duty on the mobilization day of their assigned unit.
  • Rules and regulations governing mobilization are prescribed by the Chief of Staff with the Secretary of National Defense’s approval.
