Declaration of purpose and need
- The decree declares that the Government is committed to solve the country’s housing and resettlement problems through the creation of a harmonious, comprehensive, integrated and healthy living-community via reclamation.
- The proclaimed reclamation target is a 315-hectare portion of the Dagat-Dagatan Lagoon in the Province of Rizal.
- The reclaimed area is intended to serve as a site for a low-cost housing project.
- The reclaimed area is also intended for the establishment of an industrial zone to provide job opportunities for residents.
- The decree states an immediate need to begin reclamation so the Government can construct low-cost housing in the Dagat-Dagatan area in the early part of 1976 in accordance with the project development plan.
Appropriation for Dagat-Dagatan reclamation
- Section 1 appropriates P120,000,000.00 from the general fund in the National Treasury, to the extent necessary, for the reclamation of the Dagat-Dagatan project in Rizal.
- The appropriation is tied to the establishment of a harmonious, comprehensive, integrated and healthy living-community in the area.
Scope of covered costs
- Section 2 provides that the appropriation covers the cost of acquisition of construction equipment, including motor vehicles.
Immediate implementation
- Section 3 requires the appropriation to be effective immediately upon enactment.
