Life Pension Eligibility and Benefits
- Eligibility for life pension requires:
- At least 20 years of actual and satisfactory service in the Philippine Constabulary.
- Attainment of age 55, or being physically or mentally unfit for active service regardless of age.
- Retirement approval is granted by the Governor-General.
- Pension benefits:
- Officers receive an annual pension of 2.5% of their total annual pay up to the date of retirement.
- Service as enlisted men counts toward officer retirement eligibility.
- No officer (except the Chief of Constabulary) may remain on active service beyond age 64.
- Officer's pension capped at 75% of pay received at retirement.
- Enlisted men receive similar retirement and pension benefits based on pay and allowances, capped at 70%.
Survivors' Pension
- Upon death of an eligible retired or qualifying officer/enlisted man:
- Surviving legitimate or acknowledged children, or if none, lawful wife, are entitled to 50% of the deceased's pension.
- Pension payments to children end upon their marriage or reaching age 18.
- Widow's pension ends if she remarries.
Reinstatement for Current Pensioners
- Officers and enlisted men currently receiving life pensions who:
- Lack 5 or more years before age 55 from the Act's approval date.
- Are physically and mentally fit for active service.
- May be called back into active service at their agreement as vacancies arise.
- Returning officers resume their roster position as if continuously in active service during retirement.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect immediately upon approval.
