Possession and Management of Vacant Friar Lands

  • The Director of Lands is vested with the authority to take possession of any friar lands found to be vacant.

  • Sales and leases must follow the procedures established in Section Eleven of the original Act.

Limitations on Sale of Friar Lands

Exceptions to Land Sale Limitations

  • The hectare limitations do not apply when sales are made to governmental entities including provincial or municipal governments.
  • Sales to any other branch, subdivision, or entity of the Government are likewise exempted from the hectare limitations.

  • The Act takes effect immediately upon approval, specifically on March 8, 1922.
