Policy and purpose
- The Act recognizes the eminent and spiritual services of the late Bishop Felix Y. Manalo, religious founder of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
- The Act’s operative purpose is the renaming of a designated road segment as a public memorial.
Road renaming coverage
- The Act renames the whole stretch of road running from the Junction of Barangay Bagong Sikat to Barangay Caminawit Pier.
- The renaming covers the road segment that includes Liboro Street.
- The road segment is located in the Municipality of San Jose, Province of Occidental Mindoro.
- The renamed roadway is designated as Bishop Felix Y. Manalo Avenue.
Required implementation by DPWH
- The Department of Public Works and Highways must place the appropriate markers along Bishop Felix Y. Manalo Avenue.
- The markers are required to reflect and support the new road name.
Operative effect and timelines
- The Act provides that it takes effect upon its approval.
- The Act became effective on August 8, 2004 through constitutional lapse under Article VI, Section 27(1).
