Purpose of Conversion

- Donations, gifts, and legacies made for the benefit, support, maintenance, or aid to students of the school are exempt from taxes.
- Such contributions are allowed as deductions from the gross income of the donors, encouraging public and private support.
Curriculum and Regulations
- The Department of Education, Culture and Sports is tasked to prescribe the curriculum for the science high school.
- DECS shall also issue the necessary rules and regulations to facilitate the smooth conversion and operation of the school as a science high school.
Implementation Timeline
- The school shall commence offering science and technology subjects starting from the school year immediately after the approval of this Act.
Assets, Personnel, Liabilities, and Records
- All existing personnel, assets, liabilities, and records of the original Batanes National High School are transferred to and absorbed by the newly converted science high school.
Appropriations and Funding
- Initial funding for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year’s appropriations allocated to Batanes National High School.
- Subsequent funding for operational and maintenance expenses shall be included in the General Appropriations Act.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect immediately upon approval, ensuring timely commencement of the school’s conversion and enhanced educational mandate.
