Authority and Appointment of Personnel
- The Board of Regents of the University of the Philippines is authorized to appoint a director who also serves as the dean.
- The Board may appoint necessary professors for the conservatory and determine their salaries.
Expansion and Amendment of University Colleges
- Amends subsection (b) of section six of Act No. 1870 to include a Conservatory of Music as part of the University of the Philippines.
- Lists existing and authorized colleges: Liberal Arts, Law, Social and Political Science, Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, Engineering, Mines, Agriculture, Fine Arts, and Conservatory of Music.
- Permits the Board of Regents to open colleges when conditions allow and funds are available.
- Allows the Board, with Governor-General approval, to combine colleges for economic and efficient operation.
- Specifies that the Philippine Medical School will become the College of Medicine and Surgery upon operation of two or more university colleges.
Effective Date
- The Act takes effect immediately upon passage on February 4, 1916.
