Continuation of Incumbent Representation
- Incumbent Representatives of the former Sixth and Seventh Legislative Districts continue to represent their respective districts.
- Their tenure lasts until new Representatives are elected and qualified under the new district scheme.
Electoral Administration and Implementation
- The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is mandated to issue the necessary rules and regulations to implement the reapportionment.
- These rules and regulations must be issued within thirty (30) days after the approval of the Act.
Repealing Clause
- Republic Act No. 9727 and other laws, regulations, or rules inconsistent with this reapportionment law are repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.
Effectivity of the Law
- The law takes effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation.
Legislative Process and Approval
- The Act originated in the House of Representatives, was passed and amended by the Senate, and the amendments were concurred by the House.
- It was signed into law by the President of the Philippines on September 14, 2018.
