Coverage and purpose of rank classification
- Section 28 (as amended by Section 1) provides rank classification for purposes of clarity of command and responsibility and for the effective and efficient administration, supervision and control of the Philippine National Police (PNP) (Section 1).

Amendment to prior PNP rank law
- Section 28 of Republic Act No. 6975 is amended to read as the enumerated rank classification in Section 1 (Section 1).
- Republic Act No. 11200 deems modified or repealed, as applicable, the remaining provisions of Republic Act No. 6975 (as amended by Republic Act No. 8551) that refer to PNP rank classification and all other laws, executive orders, rules and regulations inconsistent with Republic Act No. 11200 (Section 2).
Implementing rules issuance by the PNP Chief
- The Chief of the Philippine National Police shall issue the necessary rules and regulations to implement Republic Act No. 11200 (Section 3).
- The issuance of implementing rules must occur within thirty (30) days from the effectivity of Republic Act No. 11200 (Section 3).
