Issuance of Certificate of Registration
- A certificate of registration as a Medical Technologist is issued only to applicants who have:
- Passed the required examination.
- Attained at least twenty-one years of age.
- Certificates must be signed by all Board members and attested by the Secretary.
- Registered medical technologists are required to display their certificates in their workplace.
- A special provision allows issuance of certificates without examination if:
- The applicant files within ninety days after the Board is fully constituted.
- The applicant holds a Bachelor of Science in Hygiene and/or Medical Technology from duly recognized schools.
- The applicant has practiced medical technology for at least three years prior to application in accredited laboratories locally or abroad.
- Paramedical graduates who are already civil service eligible and have practiced medical technology for five years prior.
Fees Associated with Examination and Registration
- The Board charges a total of fifty pesos per applicant for examination and registration, allocated as:
- Ten pesos for registration.
- Certificates issued without prior examination are charged twenty-five pesos.
- Replacing a lost, destroyed, or mutilated certificate costs ten pesos.
- All fees are paid to the disbursing officer of the Civil Service Commission.
- Fees collected cover the authorized expenses of the Board, including compensation for its members.
Effectivity of the Act
- The amendments take effect retroactively as of June 21, 1969.
