Establishment and Administrative Supervision
- The Merida School of Home Industries is officially established in Merida, Leyte.
- The school operates for the promotion and development of home and small industries.
- It is placed under the supervision and administration of the Home Industries Division, Bureau of Vocational Education.
Functions and Mandates of the School
- The school shall provide opportunity courses for young students and adults in home industries.
- It shall conduct research on raw material processing, design of home industry articles, and production of handtools and small machinery models for training and production.
- Training on standardization and quality control of home industry products shall be offered.
- The school shall render consultancy services relating to home industries promotion and technology.
- It will conduct extension training programs within the service area.
- Courses shall be offered at secondary and technical levels with emphasis on home industries and small business.
Authorization to Receive Support
- The school is authorized to accept endowments, grants, donations, and contributions.
- Support may be sourced from provincial and municipal governments as well as individuals and legal entities.
- Funds and support aim to improve and expand the school’s services and programs.
Appropriation and Funding
- An initial appropriation of ₱200,000 is authorized for establishment, operation, and maintenance for fiscal year 1970.
- Subsequent funding shall be provided through the annual General Appropriations Act.
Effectivity Clause
- The Act takes effect immediately upon its approval.
- The law was enacted without the Executive Branch's approval on June 21, 1969.
