Salaries of Judges of Municipal Courts and Justices of the Peace in Provincial Capitals

  • Annual salaries are fixed according to city or province classification:
    • Manila municipal court judges: ₱7,200
    • Quezon City, Baguio, Cebu, Pasay, Iloilo judges: ₱6,600
    • Bacolod and San Pablo judges: ₱4,800
    • Cavite, Davao, Ormoc, Dagupan, Lipa, Zamboanga, and other cities judges: ₱4,200
  • Justices of the peace in provincial capitals also have set salaries based on province class:
    • First class "A" provinces: ₱4,800
    • First class "B" provinces: ₱4,200
    • First class provinces: ₱3,960
    • Other provinces: ₱3,360
  • Municipal court judges of cities that are also provincial capitals are considered justices of the peace for the capital's salary scale.

Vacation and Sick Leaves for Judges and Justices

  • Judges of municipal courts and justices of the peace are entitled to:
    • Fifteen (15) days vacation leave annually with pay
    • Fifteen (15) days sick leave annually with pay
  • Leave scheduling is governed by a rotation plan implemented by the Executive Judge of the Court of First Instance linked to their jurisdiction.

Appropriations and Effectivity

  • Necessary funds to implement the salary increases and leave benefits shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
  • The law takes effect immediately upon approval.
