Definition of Unlawful Possession
- Possession must be in violation of specific provisions related to firearms and ammunition (Sections 877 to 906).
- Unlawful possession includes both firearms and ammunition.
Penalties for Violation
- Upon conviction, the offender may be:
- Fined not less than fifty pesos and not more than five hundred pesos.
- Imprisoned for a period of not less than one month and not more than six months.
- Subjected to both fine and imprisonment at the court’s discretion.
Seizure and Forfeiture of Firearms and Ammunition
- In the discretion of the Governor-General:
- Firearms and ammunition found in unlawful possession may be seized.
- Upon proper legal proceedings, such items may be declared forfeited to the Insular Government.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect immediately upon its approval on November 28, 1932.
