Payment of Overtime Compensation
- The Director of Posts may, with the Secretary of Public Works and Communications' approval, pay monetary compensation for overtime instead of compensatory time.
- Overtime pay is computed based on the regular wage or salary.
- For employees paid annually, computation involves dividing the annual salary by the total number of working days excluding Sundays and legal holidays.
- The resultant daily compensation divided by regular working hours per day determines the hourly overtime rate.
Extra Pay for Night Work
- Postal employees required to perform night work shall receive extra pay at 10% of their hourly pay per hour.
- Night work is defined as work performed between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
Funding and Implementation
- The President is authorized to direct payment for overtime and night work from savings in the Bureau of Posts' appropriations for fiscal year 1951.
Effectivity Clause
- The Act takes effect immediately upon approval on June 10, 1950.
