Transfer of Assets, Liabilities, and Personnel
- Assets, both fixed and movable, as well as personnel and records of the integrated institutions, are transferred to the BSU.
- The rights, positions, and security of tenure of personnel employed before the integration remain protected and unchanged.
- Existing position incumbents retain their status until changed by the Board of Regents.
- Government-owned lands occupied by the integrated institutions are declared property of BSU and are to be titled under BSU.
- In the event BSU ceases to exist or the lands are no longer needed, ownership reverts to the local government units.
Funding and Appropriations
- Initial funding to implement the provisions of the amendment is charged against the current appropriations of the integrated institutions.
- Subsequent funding requirements for BSU operations and maintenance shall be included in the General Appropriations Act annually.
Amendment of Law Title
- The title of Republic Act No. 9045 is amended to reflect integration specifically of the Pablo Borbon Memorial Institute of Technology and its branches, Jose P. Laurel Polytechnic College, and Apolinario R. Apacible School of Fisheries into the Batangas State University.
Effectivity and Legal Consistency
- All laws, decrees, executive orders, or issuances inconsistent with the amended provisions are repealed or modified accordingly.
- The Act takes effect 15 days after publication in two newspapers of general circulation.
Legislative Approval
- The Act was passed by the House of Representatives on June 8, 2006, and by the Senate on February 19, 2007.
- It was approved by the President of the Philippines on May 22, 2007.
