Qualifications and Assignment of Instructors in Preparatory Military Training

  • Section 85 of Commonwealth Act No. 1 is amended to expand the classes of persons qualified to serve as instructors in preparatory military training.
  • Male teachers who are members of the Reserve Force or who have completed a military course qualifying them for commission in the Armed Forces of the Philippines are eligible to be assigned as instructors for cadets.
  • Instructors for the Junior Reserve shall be selected from officers and enlisted personnel of the Regular Force or Reserve Force.
  • The Chief of Staff may require qualified instructors in Preparatory Military Training to undergo annual active duty training not exceeding 30 days per calendar year.
  • Instructors undergoing such training are entitled to subsistence, suitable quarters, and transportation similar to those provided for reserve officers on annual active duty training.

Effective Date of the Amendments

  • The amendments provided by this Act take effect immediately upon approval.
