Creation of Additional Municipal Trial Court Branches
- Establishes 8 new Municipal Trial Court (MTC) branches in the Fourth Judicial Region.

- Bacoor, Cavite: 2 branches
- Imus, Cavite: 3 branches
- Dasmariñas City: 3 branches
- Each branch shall have a designated seat within the respective municipality or city.
Assignment of Branch Numbers
- The Supreme Court is vested with the authority to assign branch numbers to all newly created RTC and MTC branches.
Amendments to Existing Judiciary Law
- Sections 14(e) and 30 of Batas Pambansa Blg. 129 (The Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980), as amended, are repealed, modified, or further amended where inconsistent with this Act.
- This ensures harmonization of the judiciary reorganization law with the provisions of the new law.
Implementation and Appropriations
- The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Justice, shall prioritize the inclusion of this Act’s implementation in the Judiciary’s program.
- The necessary funds shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
- Release of funds for the operation of the newly created courts is contingent upon their actual organization and appointment of personnel.
Effectivity of the Act
- The Act takes effect fifteen (15) days after its publication.
- Publication must be in the Official Gazette or in at least two newspapers of general circulation.
Legislative Process and Approval
- The Act consolidates Senate Bill No. 2539 and House Bill No. 5742.
- Passed by the Senate on July 31, 2012, and by the House of Representatives on January 22, 2013.
- Approved by the President on April 8, 2013.
