Validity and Deactivation of the Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card (ACR I-Card)
- Departure from the Philippines by the temporary visitor or ACR I-Card holder results in the deactivation of the ACR I-Card.
- Reactivation of the ACR I-Card is possible under the same conditions if the holder returns, provided that:
- The ACR I-Card remains valid for at least 60 days from the date of re-entry.
- The ACR I-Card does not guarantee admission into the Philippines.
Procedure for Issuance and Release of the ACR I-Card
- For applications approved at the Bureau of Immigration (BI) Main Office:
- The ACR I-Card is processed and released simultaneously with the extension of Temporary Visitor's Visa (TVV), SSP, or SWP.
- For applications approved at sub-ports, satellite offices, and extension offices:
- The ACR I-Card must be processed and released within 60 hours from the time of approval.
- Delivery options for the ACR I-Card:
- Applicant may choose to receive it at the office where the application was made.
- Alternatively, it may be delivered to the applicant's local address via BI-accredited courier services.
- Costs related to courier delivery are borne by the applicant.
Coordination and Accreditation of Courier Services
- The Administrative and Records Division (ARD), in coordination with the ACR I-Card Board of Trustees (BOT) proponent, shall:
- Identify, select, and accredit the most reliable, reputable, and cost-effective courier services for ACR I-Card delivery.
Integration into Existing Systems
- Issuance of the ACR I-Card is incorporated as the final step in the current process of visa issuance expediting.
Important Legal Concepts

- The law prescribes clear timelines and processes to ensure efficiency and accountability in issuance.
- Delivery options and accreditation of couriers enhance accessibility and security for foreign nationals holding or applying for permits.
