Signature and Page Requirements

  • The testator, or the person writing the testator’s name, and the witnesses must sign each page of the will.
  • Signatures must be placed on the left margin of each page.
  • Each page must be numbered in letters, with the numbers placed at the top of each sheet.

Attestation Clause

  • The attestation must state the number of pages the will contains.
  • It must confirm the testator signed all pages or caused his name to be written by another at his direction.
  • It must confirm the presence of the three witnesses who signed all pages in the presence of the testator and of each other.

Effectivity of the Law

  • The amendments prescribed by this Act take effect on July 1, 1916.
