Selection of Commercial Fishing, Aquaculture, and Processing Representatives
- Five members represent the commercial fishing, aquaculture, and processing sectors.
- Commercial fishing sector has three representatives: small-scale, medium-scale, and large-scale boat operators.
- One representative from aquaculture organizations.
- One representative from fishery product processing sector.
- Selection facilitated by BFAR NFARMC Program Management Center (PMC).
Selection of Academic Representatives
- Two (2) academe representatives chosen among fishery experts from fisheries learning institutions.
- BFAR NFARMC PMC facilitates selection.
Selection of NGO Representative
- One (1) representative from nationally covered NGOs engaged in fisheries.
- NGO must have at least five (5) years of documented involvement in a variety of fisheries issues.
- NGO involvement includes small fisherfolk, resource management, development programs, and fishery policy advocacy.
- NGO must be certified by local FARMCs.
- Selected by a process facilitated by BFAR NFARMC PMC.
Membership Confirmation
- Representatives must first be nominated by their respective organizations.
- Formal membership is finalized upon appointment by the President of the Philippines.
Effectivity of the Order
- The Amended Fisheries Administrative Order takes effect 15 days after publication in the Official Gazette or two newspapers of general circulation.
- Additionally, effectiveness requires registration with the Office of the National Administrative Register.
- Official adoption date: April 30, 2004.
