Official Travel Status Defined
- A government official or employee is considered on official travel status only when directed to conduct activities outside their official station.
- These activities include audit, examination, investigation, inspection, research, study, or any work of similar nature.
Detail Assignments and Transfers Within the Same Agency
- Officials or employees on detail assignment or transferred within the same department or agency at their own request:
- Are not considered on official travel status.
- Are not entitled to any travel-related allowances authorized under the Circular.
- When the detail assignment or transfer is due to service requirements:
- Officials or employees are entitled to reimbursement for actual transportation fares.
- These reimbursements are subject to conditions stipulated in Paragraph 6.0 of Joint MBM-COA Circular No. 86-1.
Effectivity
- The amendments provided by this Circular became effective on April 1, 1991.
