Commission's Resolution on Commuted Money Value and Early Return to Work
- The commuted monetary value of the unexpired portion of the maternity leave is not required to be refunded by the employee.
- An employee returning to work before the expiration of her maternity leave may receive the maternity leave benefits.
- The employee is also entitled to salary for actual services rendered from the day she reports back to work.
Amendment to the Manual on Leave Administration Course for Effectiveness (LACE)
- Employees wishing to return to work before the end of their 60-day maternity leave must present a medical certificate confirming fitness to resume duties.
- No refund of the unexpired maternity leave's commuted money value is necessary upon early return.
- The employee will receive full maternity leave benefits plus salary for work performed from the early return date.
Supersession and Effectivity
- This memorandum circular supersedes all prior rulings and issuances inconsistent with its provisions.
- The circular took effect immediately upon approval on May 17, 1991.
