Composition and Structure of the National Information Technology Council

  • Chairman: Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology.
  • Co-Chairmen: Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority and a Private Sector Representative.
  • Members: Secretaries of Trade and Industry; Education, Culture and Sports; Budget and Management; Transportation and Communication; Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education; Director General of TESDA; Managing Director of the National Computer Center; and one representative each from federations of private industries related directly to the IT sector.
  • Private sector representatives, including the Co-Chairman, are appointed by the Council for terms not exceeding three years.
  • The Council is mandated to establish a Secretariat composed of both government and private sector members to provide technical and administrative support.
  • It may create committees, advisory bodies, and Technical Working Groups as necessary to achieve its objectives.

Funding and Budgeting of the National Information Technology Council

  • The operational budget of the Council shall be sourced internally from its members.
  • The specific budget contributions are to be determined and agreed upon by the Council.

Repealing Clause and Legal Effect

  • All prior issuances, orders, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Executive Order are repealed or modified accordingly.
  • This Executive Order takes effect immediately upon its signing, ensuring the amended provisions are enforceable right away.
