Prohibition of Imprints and Desecration

  • No imprint, advertisement, or any form of desecration shall be made on the National Flag.

Condition of the Flag

  • The flag must never be tattered or worn-out when used or displayed.

Restrictions on Use as Clothing

  • The National Flag shall not be worn as whole or part of any costume.

Limitations on Use on Vehicles

  • The flag shall not be used as a pennant on the hood or any part of a motor vehicle, with exceptions:
    • During celebrations of Independence Day.
    • On other patriotic occasions as designated by the President.
