Public Health Workers are entitled to hazard pay based on their salary grade, with specific guidelines for eligibility and exemptions, as outlined in the amended regulations effective July 1, 2006.

Coverage

  • Applies to all Public Health Workers irrespective of appointment nature.

Mechanics of Payment

  • For salary grades (SG) 1 to 19: hazard pay equals 25% of actual present salary.
  • For SG 20 and above: fixed amount of Php 4,989.75; no increase allowed.

Exemptions

  • Hazard pay not granted if absent for more than one full calendar month due to:
    • Vacation leave
    • Sick leave
    • Study leave (with or without pay)
    • Maternity/Paternity leave
    • Terminal leave
    • Full-time attendance in training, scholarships, seminars, or similar activities.

Rules and Regulations

  • Part-time workers receive half the hazard pay of full-time employees in identical conditions.
  • Workers detailed full-time or part-time to another agency/office receive hazard pay from their mother agency.
  • Consultants are excluded from receiving hazard pay.
  • Workers entitled to multiple hazard pay types may only receive the one most advantageous to them.

Repealing Clause

  • Annuls all prior issuances conflicting with these guidelines.

Effectivity

  • The guidelines take effect on July 1, 2006.
