The primary purpose of the Sta. Rosa Science and Technology High School is to offer a free scholarship secondary course with special emphasis on sciences and technology, preparing students for scientific and technological careers to contribute to the social and economic development of Laguna, CALABARZON, and related communities.
The director is appointed in accordance with prescribed civil service laws, rules, and regulations and cannot be removed except for cause. Their compensation is fixed by the Board of Trustees according to the Revised Compensation and Position Classification System.
The Board exercises all powers akin to a corporation's board of directors, including fixing the school site, appropriating funds, approving faculty appointments and employment contracts, determining academic ranks and compensation, approving curricula and rules, providing scholarships and fellowships, administering donations, and establishing student admission criteria.
