It shall commence in the next national election after the effectivity of the Act.
The incumbent representative of the Sixth Legislative District of Cebu continues to represent the district until the new representative for Lapu-Lapu’s lone district is elected and qualified.
It prevents a representation gap by allowing the incumbent to serve out his/ her term for the old district until the next elections produce a new representative for the lone district.
COMELEC shall issue the necessary rules and regulations to implement the Act.
All laws, rules, and regulations inconsistent with the Act are repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.
