The objectives are to give licensure examinations for Geodetic Engineering, issue Certificates of Registration and Professional Licenses, regulate the practice of Geodetic Engineering in the Philippines, and raise the standards of practice in the profession.

The Board is composed of a Chairman and two (2) Members appointed by the President from a list of three (3) recommendees each, submitted by the integrated and accredited association of geodetic engineers.

The applicant must be a Filipino citizen, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering from a CHED-recognized institution, of good moral character, and physically and mentally healthy.

The subjects are Rules and Regulations (20%), Mathematics (20%), Theory and Practice Surveying (20%), Geodesy (20%), and Cartography (20%).

A candidate must obtain a weighted general average of at least seventy percent (70%) with no grade lower than fifty-five percent (55%) in any subject.

They may take a removal examination only on the subjects where they scored below fifty-five percent (55%) within one year from the last examination.

The penalty is a fine ranging from Fifty Thousand Pesos (₱50,000.00) to Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (₱200,000.00), or imprisonment from six (6) months to six (6) years, or both, at the discretion of the court.

No person shall practice Geodetic Engineering without a license, use another's seal or sign, submit plans not prepared by a licensed Geodetic Engineer, or allow non-Geodetic Engineers to perform parts of the work. Also, no firms or corporations may be registered as geodetic engineers.

These Rules and Regulations shall take effect thirty (30) days after publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation, whichever comes earlier.
