The examinations are conducted by the Radio Operators Examination Committee (ROEC) of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
The deadline is set for dates preceding each examination date, generally around two to four weeks prior to the exam date, as specified in the schedule corresponding to each location and examination date.
Special examinations are given every Wednesday at the NTC Central Office starting January 1993.
The weekly special exams include: Restricted Ship Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate, Restricted Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate, Ship Low Power Radiotelephone Operator's Permit, General Operator's Certificate (INMARSAT and GMDSS Qualifying Examination), and First Class Radiotelegraph Code Removal.
The examinations are conducted in accordance with Department Order No. 80, series of 1971, and other related instructions and guidelines concerning the conduct of examinations.
This circular takes effect fifteen (15) days after its complete publication in a newspaper of general circulation and fifteen (15) days from the date of filing of three certified copies with the University of the Philippines Law Center.
The examination schedule is effective from April 3, 1993, to December 31, 1993, unless amended or superseded.
Examination locations include Quezon City, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Batangas, Tarlac, Baguio, Cebu, Iloilo, Zamboanga, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Iligan, Legaspi, Pampanga, Kalibo, La Union, Bacolod, Naga, and Cabanatuan among others.
Applicants must file their applications on the Friday preceding the Wednesday examination date unless otherwise specified.
