A federation is a cooperative whose members are primary cooperatives doing the same line of business.

A primary cooperative is defined as a cooperative whose members are natural persons.

Federations can engage in any cooperative enterprise authorized under Article 6 of RA 9520 that complements, augments, or supplements but does not conflict, compete with, or supplant the business activities of its members.

The registration fee is one-tenth (1/10) of one percent (1%) of the authorized share capital or the amount prescribed in the CDA schedule of fees, whichever is higher.
