Q&A (EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 562)

Executive Order No. 325, s. 1996 provides for the reorganization of the Regional Development Councils (RDC).

Administrative Order 148, s. 2006 reconstituted the NEDA Board and excluded the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Department of Health (DOH) from membership.

These departments are critical because their membership is essential in pursuing socio-economic development across the regions.

Section 1 mandates that the Regional Directors of DAR, DOH, and DILG shall remain members of the Regional Development Council (RDC).

Section 2 states that all previous issuances inconsistent with the provisions of this Executive Order are repealed or modified accordingly.

Executive Order No. 562 took effect immediately upon its signing on August 28, 2006.

The RDC's composition includes Regional Directors of agencies represented in the NEDA Board per EO No. 325, s. 1996, reflecting the interconnectedness of regional and national socio-economic development planning.
