It governs all matters pertinent to the safety and regulations in the distribution of livestock, poultry, and other animal production for consumption and animal welfare within Quezon City.

The City Veterinary Services Division is the lead agency assigned to implement the provisions of the Code.

An Abattoir or Slaughterhouse is a premises approved and registered by the controlling authority where food animals are slaughtered and/or dressed for human consumption.

The penalty is a fine of Two Thousand Pesos (Php2,000.00), confiscation of meat and meat products, and the livestock shall be sent back to its origin.

Dog owners must register and vaccinate their dogs, maintain control and leashing in public, report dog-bite incidents within 24 hours, assist the victim with medical expenses, and properly collect and dispose of dog feces.

A penalty of Five Thousand Pesos (Php5,000.00), or imprisonment of One (1) year, or both, shall be imposed on any such person.
