Republic Act No. 9725 divides the legislative district of Camarines Norte into two districts, with the incumbent representative continuing to serve until new representatives are elected, and the implementation of the reapportionment is entrusted to the Commission on Elections.

The main purpose of Republic Act No. 9725 is to provide for the reapportionment of the Lone Legislative District of the Province of Camarines Norte into two legislative districts.

The Province of Camarines Norte shall have two (2) legislative districts after the effectivity of this Act.

The First Legislative District comprises the municipalities of Capalonga, Jose Panganiban, Labo, Paracale, and Sta. Elena.

The Second Legislative District includes the municipalities of Basud, Daet, Mercedes, San Lorenzo Ruiz, San Vicente, Talisay, and Vinzons.

The incumbent Representative of the Lone Legislative District of the Province of Camarines Norte continues to represent the district until new representatives are elected and qualified.

The two legislative districts will commence to function in the next national elections following the effectivity of this Act.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is authorized to issue the necessary rules and regulations to implement this Act.

All laws, rules, and regulations inconsistent with RA 9725 are repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.

This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.

Republic Act No. 9725 was approved by then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on October 22, 2009.
